Netherton Foundry 12" Black Iron BBQ Chapa

A 12" (30 cm) black iron barbecue chapa built for outdoor cooking over open flames. Inspired by the Argentinian Gauchos, this portable grid is made for live-fire cooking, delivering authentic smoky flavour and seared griddle lines to your food.

A chapa is traditionally a flat iron fire-cooking surface. This BBQ chapa uses an open grid format, giving you direct flame contact and chargrilled flavour while keeping the same portable, fire-led cooking spiri. Whether grid or plate, the chapa is designed for open-fire use — tough, versatile, and communal. It turns any flame into a feast.

Pre-seasoned with natural flax oil, this barbecue chapa resists corrosion and develops a natural non-stick finish over time. Its detachable legs make it easy to assemble, transport, and store, while the heavy-duty black iron build ensures strength and durability at high heat.

FAQ's

A BBQ chapa is a portable iron fire-cooking surface inspired by Argentinian-style outdoor cooking. This version uses an open grid rather than a solid plate, giving food direct contact with flame, embers and smoke for a more chargrilled finish.

The 12" BBQ chapa is best suited for solo cooks, couples, compact garden setups, camping trips, beach cooking and smaller fire pits. It gives you a proper iron barbecue surface without the size or weight of a larger chapa.

This BBQ chapa is well suited to burgers, sausages, steaks, chicken pieces, fish, vegetables and other foods that benefit from direct flame and chargrilled flavour. For smaller foods such as eggs or pancakes, a solid chapa griddle plate is usually the better choice.

Yes. With the legs removed, the chapa can be used on suitable hobs, including induction when heated gradually. For best results, heat slowly from cold, avoid sudden temperature shock and use a heat source suited to the plate size.
