Netherton Foundry 12" Spun Iron Steak Skillet

Built for Heat. Forged for Steak.

Some pans can handle the heat. This one demands it.

Designed in collaboration with fire-cooking legend DJBBQ, the Netherton Foundry 12” Steak Skillet is a thick, heavyweight warrior of a pan. Made in Shropshire from 3mm thick, 99.1% pure spun black iron, this skillet delivers intense searing power, superior caramelisation, and fire-hardened performance.

With a base 50% thicker than standard pans, it’s made to lock in heat for high-temperature browning over flames, hobs, and range stoves. Pre-seasoned with edible flax oil and finished with a hand-riveted British oak handle, this is the pan you reach for when meat is on the menu and compromise is off the table.

Whether on an open fire or induction hob, it’s a piece of cookware built for serious heat — and even more serious cooking.

FAQ's

The 3mm spun black iron body is thicker than standard Netherton pans, helping it hold strong heat for searing, browning and caramelisation. That makes it well suited to steak, burgers, chops and other high-heat cooking where a proper crust matters.

Yes. The skillet is suitable for induction hobs as well as gas, electric, ceramic, halogen and range stoves. Heat gradually from cold, especially on induction, to help protect the pan base and maintain cooking performance.

The British oak handle cover should be removed before oven or grill use. Once the handle cover is removed, the skillet can be used in the oven or under the grill according to Netherton’s care guidance.

No. Although it is designed with steak and high-heat searing in mind, it can also be used for burgers, mushrooms, onions, charred vegetables, fried eggs, breakfasts and fire-cooked dishes where strong heat and a natural iron surface are useful.
