FAQ's

A sauteuse is a deep, curved pan that sits between a frying pan and a saucepan. This makes it useful for frying, sautéing, braising, browning, roasting, boiling, simmering, tossing, whisking and serving from one compact piece of cookware.

The deeper sides and broad base make this sauteuse more versatile than a standard frying pan. It can handle sauces, stews, dumplings, braises and oven dishes as well as frying and browning, making it a strong choice for customers who want one compact pan that does more.

Yes. This Prospector Sauteuse is listed by Netherton Foundry as oven safe and suitable for frying on the hob, browning under the grill and cooking in the oven. It is also suitable for wood-burning ovens and open-fire cooking when used correctly.

Yes. The pan is suitable for induction hobs as well as range stoves, electric, gas, ceramic and halogen hobs. For best results, heat it slowly from cold and gradually increase the power to help keep the spun iron base flat.
